Happy Halloween Sungrowon Orphanage

Halloween is not a well known holiday in Korea so we decided to share this fun day with the kids.  Since costumes are far and few between here some wonderful ladies brought back many from the states or had them shipped here.  I hope this is a tradition that they will continue with.  I think the kids enjoyed the costumes, games, and of course the CANDY!  The sugar high is sure to last through the week!

Geoje Island Flower Festival

This weekend kicked off the Geoje Island Flower Festival.  Tommy and I ventured out to see what this was all about before the Halloween Party at Sungrow Orphanage.  Of course parking was a hassle, but it was well worth it and actually wish we would have allowed for more time.  Flowers after flowers and Tommy's favorite bonsai trees!

As usual no one around to take our picture.  Goodness wrinkles go away!

I had to get a few pictures of him and he could care less, he is always behind the camera.

Play Time with the Kiddos!

I was able to visit with a few of the kids from the orphanage on Tuesday.  I missed seeing their smiling faces!!  They are all growing so fast and are so happy!

Since the class has grown in size, the ladies have started doing more activities including the Hokie Pokie and the little ones love it.  They don't even realize they are practicing their English while having a little fun.  This week we also traced their body outline and then they were able to color in however they wanted.

1st Korean OB Appointment at Miz Mom's Clinic

We had our first Korean OB appointment today at Miz Mom's.  Happy to report it was a good experience, very easy, quick, clean and CHEAP!  No appointment needed, just walk in!  No 10 page paperwork to complete!  Just handed them my passport, told them my due date, took my weight and blood pressure.  We waited about 40 minutes to see the doctor and once with Dr. Lee we were back there for 15 minutes tops.  He just asked a few basic questions about my health and then did the ultrasound (and 3D too).  I wish every appointment in the US was that easy.  The appointment was only $40 without using our insurance!

Baby Mason is 17 weeks and 6 days (almost 4.5 months)!  He looks very healthy and we don't have to return for 4 weeks.  He was moving all over the place and sucking his thumb!  Here are a few pictures of Baby M!

Look at those cheeks and chunky arms!!

Jet Lag!!

We made it back to South Korea late Monday night for a total of 26 hours travel time from El Campo!  It is now Thursday morning at 6:15am and we have been up since 4:30am!  So as you can see we are still suffering from Jet Lag.  The past two nights we have been asleep at 7pm and up before 5am.  Hopefully this weekend we can get on schedule.  In the meantime, Tommy is back at work and I am re-entering the social Expat life here.  It has been great to see friends and meet new ones.  So many people have already left and many new ones have moved in.  People are constantly revolving around here!  The past two days have been full of activities but today I am going to stay in to relax!

Friday we will have our first OB appointment in Korea at the Miz Mom's clinic.  I have heard good things about the care, but it already sounds different from home.  First of all, no appointments, you just walk in!  Each visit is around $25 which includes an ultrasound that they put on a dvd for you!  The doctor's offices are on the second floor and you deliver on the 3rd.  The technology is supposed to be excellent.  As of now we are still planning to delivery in Houston, but it will be interesting to see how they do things here.  I will update you with details as I experience it.

It's a Boy!

Today we found out that our bundle of joy is a BOY!!  We are so excited!  I knew it was a boy all along, mother's intuition already working.  Also, my doctor has released me for travel so I flying back to South Korea with Tommy next weekend.  The plan is for me to stay there until mid December.  It will great to be back with my husband for a while and to see all my Korean friends.  See you soon Korea!
